Dr. Pimple Popper tackles massive zit
You could call her the Diva of Dermatologists.
Or you could call Sandra Lee the name she’s best known as, Dr. Pimple Popper.
Millions watch the California doctor’s stomachchurning videos featuring her exploits in the world of pus and pimples.
Most recently, she removed a huge lump of fat from a South Dakota woman’s neck. The squishy growth had been plaguing Melissa, 30, for more than three years.
And it wouldn’t stop growing.
In surgery, the good doctor cut out a sickening tumour that turned out to be a lipoma — a non-cancerous fatty lump that grow under the skin.
Melissa — appearing on Lee’s new TLC show, Dr. Pimple Popper — said the growth had become “like a pillow” and was interfering with her life.
“My biggest fear is that it will be too big for her and she won’t be able to remove it,” Melissa said before the show. “(Now) I wear hoodies all day and all night, warm or cold.”
Dr. Pimple Popper was worried too.
“When something grows really quickly that can be something that we physicians pay attention to,” she said. “Melissa most likely has a lipoma, which is a benign collection of fat cells.”
Dr Pimple Popper removed the lipoma by cutting Melissa’s skin with a scalpel and pulling out the fat with her hands.
