Winnipeg Sun - - COMMENT -

Baby, It’s Cold Outside won’t be played on some radio stations. Well, I just came in and the song’s bang on. It is cold outside and let me also say, James Caan didn’t slip something in Bette Midler’s drink, Louis Armstrong didn’t add anything to Velma Middleton’s and Michael Buble didn’t drop something into Anne Murray’s, either. Anyway, while I was outside in the cold, I noticed an elderly woman lying on the street with hoof marks on her forehead, chatted with a little girl distraught because she saw her mother kissing Santa Claus, a young woman crying on the corner because the only way she’ll be home for Christmas is in her dreams and another woman bawling her eyes out because she and her darling are apart. The elderly woman died, the little girl’s parents aren’t speaking and the two women are still outside crying in what feels like -17. Baby, it’s cold outside . ... Who’s to say James, Louis and Michael didn’t sleep on the couch? Have fun with that, and Merry friggin’ Christmas!
