‘100% fabricated’

Dwayne Johnson denies millennial-bashing interview

Winnipeg Sun - - SHOWBIZ -

Dwayne Johnson has denied criticizing millennials as “generation snowflake” in a newspaper interview.

The wrestler-turned-actor reportedly told an interviewer at British newspaper The Daily Star that the young people of today are “looking for a reason to be offended.”

However, Johnson took to Instagram to upload a video in which he vehemently denied making the comments and explained that he was baffled by the newspaper’s article.

“The interview never took place, never happened, never said any of those words. Completely untrue, 100% fabricated. I was quite baffled when I woke up this morning,” the 46-year-old explained. “I’ve gained such great trust and equity in all you guys all around the world over the years, and you know it’s not a real DJ (Dwayne Johnson) interview if I’m ever insulting a group, a generation, or anyone, because that’s not me. And that’s not who I am, and it’s not what we do.”

The father of three — who had taken a break from a workout to deny the story — told his

128 million followers that he encouraged empathy and growth, but most importantly, he aspires to “encourage everybody to be exactly who they want to be.”

A representative for The Daily Star has not yet responded to Johnson’s accusations.
