Pixie cut redux

-

Remember when the charming pixie cut was all the rage in the ’50s and ’60s? Twiggy, Mia Farrow, Jean Seberg and style icon Audrey Hepburn all sported the short gamine hairstyle. Fast-forward, and today’s young stars are taking scissors, even shears, to their long locks for a more militant pixie look – in step with today’s “resist” times. While four-time Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams opted for a softer version, Twilight star Kristen Stewart, Little Big Lies star Zoe Kravitz and pop star Katy Perry all chose an extreme peroxide buzz-cut version. So if you’re craving a maintenance-free blond and sassy look – you’re on trend for summer 2017. —Kim Izzo
