But ageism can have more damaging implicatio­ns, especially when it occurs in the workforce.

A recent CARP Poll found that:

70% of respondent­s feel it’s harder for an older worker to obtain employment than for a younger worker

of respondent­s say they’ve experience­d some form of ageism in their most recent employment situation

of respondent­s say their employer either explicitly told them they had to retire or made comments and took actions to make them feel they were no longer wanted in the workplace
