Your article on infantiliz­ing older people [“A Zoomer by Any Other Name,” June] was right on. It’s been a peeve of mine since I became “a senior.” I’m in my 70s and addressed as “hon,” “dear,” “sweetie,” “young man,” etc. – all suggest that I’m old and safe. This happens at restaurant­s and retail outlets. Great article. BTW, I often tell people, “How come you don’t age?” I’m usually sincere. —Malcolm Surette, via email
