NOVEMBER 21, 2018
World COPD Day is organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) in collaboration with health care professionals and COPD patient groups throughout the world. Each year GOLD chooses a theme and coordinates preparation and distribution of World COPD Day materials and resources with organizations in each participating country. This year’s theme is: Never too early, Never too late World COPD Day activities are organized in each country by health care professionals, educators, and members of the public who want to help reduce the burden of COPD. COPD Canada’s aim in the coming year is to raise awareness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and improve early diagnosis of COPD through expanded spirometry testing. The earlier COPD is detected and controlled, the better the results of treatment, and the better your chance to prevent further lung damage. This November our national COPD awareness efforts are supported in part by AstraZeneca Canada. We have an information booth at the upcoming ZOOMER Lifestyle Show, Oct. 27th - 28th in Toronto. Drop by our booth to learn more about COPD, spirometry testing and general respiratory health.
