MEDICAL CANNABIS COMES IN DIFFERENT FORMATS
Medical cannabis is currently available in dried, oil and softgel formats, in addition to the new formats that will gradually become available (extracts, topicals and nd edibles).
I. DRIED CANNABIS is typically dried whole flowers (sometimes called alled bud) or milled (sometimes called ground, ready to be used in a vaporizer). Dried cannabis is measured in grams.
II. CANNABIS OIL is concentrated cannabis resin that’s extracted from cannabis flowers that have been heated to activate the cannabinoids, then diluted with a food-grade carrier oil. It’s taken orally rally using a syringe and measured in millilitres. Every product has an equivalency factor indicating the number of grams of dried cannabis it takes to produce the oil. III. CANNABIS SOFTGELS are gelatin-based capsules filled with cannabis oil that are taken orally.
