DAVID HELVARG

David Helvarg is executive director of Blue Frontier, an ocean conservation group, and the author of six books. An award-winning journalist, he has produced broadcast documentaries for PBS, The Discovery Channel, and others. His print work has appeared in publications including The New York Times, LA Times, and National Geographic. His article in this issue first appeared in The Progressive in May 2017.
