Tree by tree au­tumn moves on Where is it head­ing? Where will it end? Leaf af­ter leaf thrown onto this fire Of days, each day more col­or­ful, More in­tense, shorter, red­der. Au­tumn’s fire al­ready burn­ing, But slowly, al­most im­per­cep­ti­bly. One day like the next, but not the same. Each leaf adds to a for­est fire Of pure beauty, and to­mor­row Or the day af­ter, ev­ery­thing will burn. Half the for­est, half the world Is still green, but we feel it com­ing: This bon­fire of crazy color...
