ICONIC OUT­DOOR BRAND Patag­o­nia has launched their Fall 2018 line of capi­lene base lay­ers. Com­pris­ing men’s and women’s hoody, crew top and bot­toms, the col­lec­tion comes in four lev­els of warmth. Light­weight is for the mildest of con­di­tions and uses 100% re­cy­cled polyester, while the mid­weight range ups the pro­tec­tion, us­ing at least 41% re­cy­cled polyester depend­ing on the par­tic­u­lar gar­ment. The Ther­mal pieces are warm­est of all, us­ing span­dex to get a snug­ger fit along with a heav­ier polyester fi­bre. Top-of-the-line though are the Air gar­ments which use a seam­less, 3D knit of 51% merino and 49% re­cy­cled polyester to pro­duce gar­ments with a lofted wool feel. They are in­tended to suit the full range of con­di­tions: wear them as a sin­gle layer in a cool sum­mer evening breeze or marry them to a full lay­ered sys­tem for ex­po­sure to freez­ing con­di­tions and arc­tic blasts.
