ICONIC OUTDOOR BRAND Patagonia has launched their Fall 2018 line of capilene base layers. Comprising men’s and women’s hoody, crew top and bottoms, the collection comes in four levels of warmth. Lightweight is for the mildest of conditions and uses 100% recycled polyester, while the midweight range ups the protection, using at least 41% recycled polyester depending on the particular garment. The Thermal pieces are warmest of all, using spandex to get a snugger fit along with a heavier polyester fibre. Top-of-the-line though are the Air garments which use a seamless, 3D knit of 51% merino and 49% recycled polyester to produce garments with a lofted wool feel. They are intended to suit the full range of conditions: wear them as a single layer in a cool summer evening breeze or marry them to a full layered system for exposure to freezing conditions and arctic blasts.
