THE PHILIP­PINES IS A HID­DEN GEM FOR bik­ers and now Bu­goy Bik­ers has a new tour to tempt with: a 14-day route through the Cen­tral Visayas, ex­plor­ing three con­trast­ing is­lands. The two large is­lands of Ne­gros and Cebu, to­gether with much smaller Siqui­jor, com­prise the trio. The route stitch­ing them to­gether in­cludes the mys­te­ri­ous-sound­ing Veg­etable High­way, the most chal­leng­ing sec­tion of the ride ac­cord­ing to the op­er­a­tor; the Tran­scen­tral High­way from Toledo to Cebu, and some time spent cy­cling along the coasts. Climb­ing is called for on cer­tain days, in­clud­ing a se­ri­ous 15-kilo­me­tre pull up to the In­sta­gram-wor­thy Twin Lakes in Du­maguete. A jeep­ney sag wagon is on hand ev­ery trip to move your lug­gage on and as a backup should any­one need a break.
