From Kath­mandu, you have three main op­tions. You can fly to Nepal­ganj, stay overnight and catch a flight to Juphal next morn­ing gets you right into Dolpo, at the feet of the Shey Phok­sundo Na­tional Park, the ideal spot for Trans-hi­malayan trekking. You can also fly to Pokhara, then Jom­som to take on the chal­leng­ing trek from Mus­tang into Dolpo. Fi­nally, from Nepal­ganj, you can fly to Talcha, close to Rara Lake, and start trekking east to cross into Up­per Dolpo. en­try point to the coun­try for US$25-100, de­pend­ing on length of stay. Trekking per­mits for re­gions like Dolpo that share a bor­der with Ti­bet are trick­ier and range widely in cost. To ob­tain one you must re­cruit the ser­vices of a li­censed trek or­gan­iser.
