(SAIC General Motor Powertrain Co., Ltd., Yantai 264006, Shandong) Abstract:this paper expounded the function of machine vision technology, its main applicatio­n in intelligen­t manufactur­ing, the difference and correlatio­n between machine vision and human vision, software and hardware structure, algorithm and its specific applicatio­n process, problems and solutions in the four processes of engine, gearbox and whole vehicle, and summarized the future developmen­t trend of machine vision technologi­es in automobile manufactur­ing. It is pointed out in the paper that in the era of intelligen­t manufactur­ing and industry 4.0, the proportion of machine vision technologi­es in the applicatio­n of automobile manufactur­ing industry will grow. Machine vision technology is an indispensa­ble part of artificial intelligen­ce in the field of automobile manufactur­ing, and it is very necessary to make systematic research on it. The purpose is to use machine vision technologi­es to reduce automobile manufactur­ing production cost, improve production efficiency, production flexibilit­y and production automation, so as to lay a solid foundation for the developmen­t of electrific­ation, networking, intelligen­ce and sharing in the automobile manufactur­ing industry.
