Modeling of Drag Torque of Wet Clutch Based on Fluid Dynamics

Abstract In order to solve the problem of clutch power loss caused by drag torque of disengaged wet clutch,【 】improve transmission efficiency of automatic transmission, firstly the mechanism of drag torque is analyzed, a hydrodynamic model of lubricating oil of the disengaged wet clutch is established. Then through simulation analysis of the key influential factors of wet clutch drag torque, the effect of waviness of friction plate is mainly explored. The simulation results indicate that increasing surface groove and waviness of friction plate can effectively reduce the drag torque of the wet clutch. In addition, increasing the clearance between the friction disk and the separated steel disk, reducing lubricant viscosity and oil supply can also help to reduce the drag torque.
