Abstract The competitive situation of Intelligent and Connected Vehicle (ICV) technologies in major countries are【 】analyzed comprehensively to provide references for China technological and industrial development in this field. Based on systematically sorting out the concept, connotation and industrial chain of ICV, the global ICV patents are measured and analyzed from the perspectives of technological research and development trends, technological competition areas, technological competitors and patent value, etc., and patents of the major countries are compared and analyzed. The study shows that the current ICV technologies are in a period of rapid development, and the focus of ICV technological research and development is different in different countries. The top 20 patentees of ICV technologies all come from enterprises and different types of enterprises have different concerns. The US patented technologies have the greatest influence. Although the Chinese patented technologies have developed rapidly in recent years, yet the quality of technology needs to be improved.
