RUSSIA-CHINA-TAJIKISTAN: THE SPACE OF CIVILISATION DIALOGUE HELD IN BEIJING
On November 16, 2018, the RussiaChina-tajikistan: The Space of Civilisation Dialogue cultural event was hosted by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in China at the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
Participating foreign ambassadors to China included Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov, Tajik Ambassador to China Parviz Davlatzoda, Turkmen Ambassador to China Rustamova Chinar Tajievna, Kazakh Ambassador to China Shakhrat Nuryshev and Armenian Ambassador to China Sergey Manassarian. Among other attendees were SecretaryGeneral of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Rashid Alimov, representatives from the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, staff from the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, foreign diplomats, cultural celebrities, scholars, media workers, professors, university teachers and students, and Russian and Tajik compatriots.
In his welcome speech, Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov noted that Russia not only supports large projects in the field of economics but also considers interpersonal cooperation important. He stressed the importance of enhancing interpersonal ties between people of countries and launching events to improve interpersonal exchanges.
The event featured speeches and performances by artists and celebrities. Amongst these were well-known TajikRussian poet, novelist and playwright Timur Kasimovich Zulfikaro, Russian actress and painter Irina Dmitrieva-vann, Tajik film director and cultural expert Sharofat Arabova and Russian pianist Svetlana Kudriavtseva. Paintings by Chinese painter Jin Xingshi and Irina Dmitrieva-vann were exhibited at the event as well.
