Op­tics Val­ley to build 3 new parks this year

A se­ries of tree plant­ing ac­tiv­i­ties be­tween March 10 and 12 took place in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech De­vel­op­ment Zone. Nearly 1,000 ci­ti­zens took part in the ac­tiv­i­ties at Baoz­ixi Park, a park cur­rently un­der con­struc­tion. With a to­tal cost of about RMB 1.45bil­lion, the park is sched­uled to be com­pleted in 2020.

In the Wuhan East Lake Hightech De­vel­op­ment Zone, there are al­ready eight parks, such as the Long­shanxi Park and the Yunhu Park as well as a 120-kilo­me­ter green­way in the Fu­ture City and Bi­o­lake.

This year plans are to build three new parks, namely Baoz­ixi Park, Xinghe Park, and Yu­longhe Park, adding an­other 150,000 square me­ters of green space. Mean­while, a 20-km green­way will be built to con­nect the parks and com­mu­ni­ties. The con­struc­tion of a green­way around Ji­ufeng Moun­tain is also set to be­gin.
