Wuhan tops list in patent licensing among subprovincial cities
The 2018 Hubei Provincial Conference for directors of Intellectual Property Bureau revealed on March 13 that patents in Hubei are expected to break through 7.5 per 10,000 residents.
According to a source from the Hubei Intellectual Property Bureau, the number of patent applications in Hubei in 2017 amounted to 110,234. Wuhan's patent licensing rate ranked first among China's sub-provincial cities.
Overall ,Hubei's intellectual property protection development index ranked eighth nationwide, and first in Central China, according to the "Evaluation Report on the Development of Intellectual Property in China" issued by the State Intellectual Property Office.
Last year, the number of patents in Hubei was 6.87 per 10,000 residents. Patent applications per 10,000 residents is an internationally accepted indicator that shows a country's or region's innovative capacity.
