Wuhan Marathon 2018 will start at 7:30 A.M. on April 15. The race route is the same as in 2017, featuring the city's core landscapes like the Yangtze River and East Lake.

The organizing committee released the latest event information including its medals for all finishers on March 14. The medals ,containing pure gold, are designed full of Wuhan elements, including the colors of blue, yellow ,and silver and a sketch of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge vividly portraying "the most beautiful marathon route" around rivers ,lakes, and bridges. This year, all finishers can have their participation medals engraved with words of their choice free of charge thanks to the race's sponsors.

In addition, the Wuhan Marathon organizing committee will also cooperate with Wuhan City Card to launch a free Wuhan Marathon memorial smart card. The memorial card is designed with the city landmarks like the Yellow Crane Tower, Yangtze River Bridge, and the Tortoise Hill TV Tower. Every contestant will be offered a free memorial card with a stored value of RMB 10 to assist their needs for public transportation to arrive at the race venue.

Three plum blossoms, Wuhan's city flower, adorn the runway, implying that the spirit of Wuhan Marathon runners is as resilient and unyielding as the plum blossom.
