The Rented Wife, starring local comedian Axing and directed by Hubei director Qi Zhuihang, is set for a nationwide release in cinemas on March 31.

The film tells the story of a single young man named Erma, who has achieved some modest success over the past 10 years far away from his hometown. He decides to go back to his hometown with a rented wife. The twisted turn thrusts in when he gets caught up with a few thieves.

Apart from the Wuhan dialect, over 20 dialects nationwide have been captured in the film. The director says it is a film dedicated to all unmarried young people making a living far away from their hometowns. The frankness and humor embodied by the dialects is what makes it unique.
