Snapshots of America photo contest
The U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan is holding a photo contest "Explore America through Travel and Photography" to collect quality photos that document the nature, people, and culture of America. Through different photographic perspectives of Chinese tourists, attendees will be able to see America through the eyes of Chinese people.
Entrants must be at least 18 years old on the date of entry into the contest and be residents of the People's Republic of China. Each entrant can upload up to three high resolution photographs. Photo submissions must be in JPG format, 10 megabytes or larger, but resolution must be no smaller than 1024×
768 pixels. Submissions should not have any visible watermarks, signatures, or personally identifiable information. The submitted photograph cannot be significantly retouched: nothing in the photograph (people, animals, scenery, objects, etc.) may be digitally altered, removed, augmented or rearranged. To submit photos, fill in the required forms and email them and the photos to email@example.com. The title of the email should be " + Photography Type + Photographer Name". An automatic reply will be sent as proof of successful registration. Entries may be submitted between March 30 and midnight of May 4 of this year.
The judging panel is composed of representatives of the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan, local wellknown photographers, and representatives from contest sponsors. Entries will be judged based on light and shadow, color, composition, mood, and creativity. Results will be released late May.
One grand prize winner will receive roundtrip business-class tickets from Wuhan to San Francisco (tax not included) while all winning photographs will be displayed on the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan's website, social media, or in the Embassy itself.
