Changjiang Axis to be re

Wuhan's river cul­ture is go­ing to be high­lighted as a re­sult of the con­struc­tion of the Changjiang Axis and Changjiang NewTow n.

Con­struc­tion on the demon­stra­tion sec­tion of the av­enues and scenic ar­eas called "city bal­conies" along the Changjiang Axis started last De­cem­ber. Fo­cus­ing on its func­tions in trans­porta­tion econ­omy, cul­ture, ecol­ogy, and land­scape the project will be com­pleted by 2019 in time for the 7th CISM Mil­i­tary World Games.

The con­struc­tion of the left and right bank av­enues along the Yangtze River (Changjiang) is key to the whole project.

The ur­ban sec­tion of the Changjiang Axis is di­vided into four parts: the core area (cov­er­ing 26.49 square kilo­me­ters), the key area (61.23 square kilo­me­ters), the ma­jor ur­ban area (138.5 square kilo­me­ters), and the ex­ten­sion area (517 square kilo­me­ters). The core area ex­tends
