Upgraded Yuehu Bridge facilitates traffic between Hanyang & Hankou
The expansion project of the Yuehu Bridge has been completed. The project converted the section of Hanjiang Boulevard from Jiefang Avenue to Meizishan Passage into an expressway. The expressway was opened for traffic on August 31. According to the Wuhan Urban Construction Investment & Development Group, this expressway facilitates the traffic from Jiefang Avenue and Zhongshan Avenue to Zhiyin Avenue and Jiangcheng Avenue.
The main line of the widened 1.86-kilometer-long Yuehu Bridge, with three lanes in each direction, forms part of the expressway. Its main body is designed for a top driving speed of 60 kilometers per hour. The ground auxiliary road is designed for a top speed of 40 kilometers per hour.
Hanjiang Boulevard, which connects the Hanyang and the Hankou sections of the Third Ring Road, will be built in line with the standards of urban expressways with a designed speed of 60 kilometers per hour.
Using the Yuehu Bridge and the Baofeng Road Overpass, it took our journalist five minutes to drive from the Meizishan Passage to Tongji Hospital on Jiefang Avenue.
Before the expansion, it usually took over ten minutes to drive from Hanyang to Jiefang Avenue using the Yuehu Bridge and Qiaokou Road.
