Franco-Chi­nese Month of the En­vi­ron­ment to start

On Septem­ber 11 the Con­sulate Gen­eral of France in Wuhan an­nounced that the 5th edi­tion of the Franco-Chi­nese Month of the En­vi­ron­ment will be­gin and con­tinue through Oc­to­ber 14 in its Wuhan stop.

As an an­nual flag­ship pro­gramopen to the pub­lic, this year's event fo­cuses on "breathe, drink, eat." It will be­gin with the ex­hi­bi­tion en­ti­tled "Time to eat... with French artists! " to be un­veiled on Septem­ber 15 and con­tinue through Oc­to­ber 14 at the Mar­ket­ing Cen­ter of Union Real Es­tate in Hanyang. The ex­hi­bi­tion will present pho­tos by 15 con­tem­po­rary artists who share their unique vi­sion on how food is grown in soil and later col­lected, pre­served, cre­ated, and fi­nally served at the ta­ble.

It will be fol­lowed by a culi­nary work­shop to be held at the Grand Mer­cure Wuhan Qiaokou on Septem­ber 18. Gilles Daveau, a for­mer restau­ra­teur and later diet con­sul­tant and writer, will meet the pub­lic at the work­shop and guide par­tic­i­pants on how to cook var­i­ous dishes. He will also meet read­ers at Be­yond Book Story in Hanyang the same day.

An­other ac­tiv­ity to be car­ried out dur­ing the month of en­vi­ron­ment will be a work­shop in co­op­er­a­tion with Wuhan Red Scarf Pri­mary School on Septem­ber 26. At the work­shop, chil­dren will m ake their own air pu­ri­fiers un­der the guid­ance of teach­ers.

The month of en­vi­ron­ment will con­clude with its high­light, the 4th Sino-French Fo­ru­mon Law and Jus­tice due to open at Wuhan Univer­sity on Oc­to­ber 14. The fo­rum bring­ing in ex­perts of var­i­ous back­grounds, will ad­dress le­gal is­sues re­lated to the en­vi­ron­ment and pub­lic health.
