On Sept. 16, at the Baiji Dol­phi­nar­ium, In­sti­tute of Hy­dro­bi­ol­ogy, Chi­nese Academy of Sciences ( Wuhan Branch), the new­est fin­less por­poise,

F7C turned 105 days old. This date co­in­cides with the 40th an­niver­sary of the Chi­nese cetacean bi­ol­ogy group. The three parts of the name F7C re­spec­tively mean fe­male and num­ber

7, the fin­less por­poise's mother, and calf. F7C is learn­ing dif­fer­ent tricks quickly. She is even learn­ing to jump and to catch fish.
