Ac­cord­ing to Liao Yi­jian, Pres­i­dent and Gen­eral Man­ager ofHSBC Group (China), Wuhan is home to 89 uni­ver­si­ties with 1.2 mil­lion col­lege stu­dents, top­ping all the cities in the world. Due to this ad­van­tage in ta­lent, Wuhan will most def­i­nitely be­come the cap­i­tal of­tal­ent, and HSBC will fur­ther its de­vel­op­ment in Wuhan.

Me­nar­ini Hold­ing Co., Ltd., the largest phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal com­pany in south­ern Europe, is pre­par­ing to move its R&D and man­u­fac­tur­ing cen­ter to Wuhan. Wang Rui, the com­pany's Di­rec­tor and Vice Pres­i­dent, said that for the es­tab­lish­ment ofan R&D cen­ter, hav­ing enough ta­lent avail­able is the key fac­tor. With Wuhan hav­ing an abun­dance ofu­ni­ver­sity stu­dents, it will pro­vide ba­sic hu­man re­sources for the com­pany's phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal re­search and de­vel­op­ment.

Hong Yan'an, Vice Chair­man of Deloitte China, said that Wuhan has in­tro­duced a num­ber of­tal­ent at­tract­ing poli­cies to en­tice more univer­sity stu­dents to stay in the city. Not only are many ex­cel­lent stu­dents study­ing abroad will­ing to re­turn to Wuhan, but ex­cel­lent em­ploy­ees from Deloitte are will­ing to work in Wuhan as well, which is a great ben­e­fit for the de­vel­op­ment of the com­pany.
