Abstract:The author carries out research on the basic causes of China’s FDI since the implementation of“Going Out” strategy. First,China’s FDI is significantly impacted by such causes as seeking after market, seeking after technology and seeking after natural resources;in the era of post financial crisis, the first cause is still playing its role;the second one is getting stronger;and the third one is fading. Second, the first and the second causes are the most important driving forces for China’s FDI in developed countries;with time passed by,the first one is fading slowly, and the second one is getting stronger. Third, all the three causes are the important driving forces for China’s FDI in developing countries;and among them, the relation between the first one and the time is not obvious;the second one is getting stronger;and the third one is fading quickly. And fourth, generally speaking,China’s FID is impacted by the openness of host countries in terms of FDI;but the role of this cause in the era of economic recovery disappeared. At present,China should further accelerate the construction of the Belt and Road and expand FDI in countries along the Belt and Road, promote China’s strength in technological innovation and industrial upgrade with the help of integrating overseas high quality assets, and promote bilateral investment relation with other countries and develop the long-term and stable economic and trade relation.
