Abstract:With the development of e-commerce service industry, the number of people working in the express industry has increased a lot. Overwork of couriers has aroused wide concern of the society. Referring to Japanese fatigue degree self- test scale,FAI,FS- 14 and ten warning signs of death from overwork, the authors design the investigation item of overwork of couriers. Statistical analysis shows that, the work burden of most couriers is very high. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was performed to investigate the associated factors for overwork of the couriers. Education, length of working hours, social insurance coverage and perceived competitive pressure are influencing factors of overwork. In order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of couriers, government departments should strengthen the labor security supervision of express enterprises, especially in labor time and social security, and evaluate the rationality of the labor quota or other assessment standards of express enterprises. It is necessary for express enterprises to improve their human resource management status. Express enterprises should pay more attention to employee training and health management to effectively motivate and retain the couriers. The government and express enterprises should guide couriers to pay more attention to their physical health and change their short-sighted behavior.
