The Essence of China-US Economic and Trade Frictions and China's Countermeasures ........... DU Yong-hong

Abstract：Over the past 40 years since the establishment of China-US diplomatic relations，there are both cooperation and frictions in the economic and trade relation. Since the Trump took the office，America takes“America First”as the principle， pursues trade unilateralism and protectionism，adopts such measures as additional tariff and limitation on investment，and triggers trade frictions. On the face of it，the reason of the trade friction is the trade deficit between China and US；but in essence，the trade friction is not simple trade competition，but that the America，who has taken cold war as the way of thinking，views China as the strong strategic rival，and tries to hinder the development of China by holding trade protectionism as the flag；and this trade friction is the fight for leadership of the world which aroused by the differences in in terms of development pattern，ideology， cultural civilization，and value. The logic evolution process of this trade friction should be“negotiation – confronting upgrading

– negotiation again – peaceful compromise or overall confronting”. So we should，first，objectively and rationally understand the real intention of America，further champion the idea of “human community with a shared future”，and deepen the construction of the Belt and Road；second，we should adhere to the principle of opening up，strengthen institutional connectivity， and promote the high quality trade development；third，we should adhere to independent innovation，and promote the development of real economy；fourth，we should accelerate RMB normalization，and gradually establish the efficient supervision coordination mechanism；and fifth，we should comprehensively improve economic vitality，maintain the status quo to deal with the external impact brought by trade friction.
