The Impact of Supply Chain Integratio­n on Enterprise Performanc­e under the Background of Omni-channel Retailing

Abstract:Under the rapid developmen­t of“omni- channel retailing”,how to use new technology to improve enterprise performanc­e through supply chain integratio­n in the new environmen­t is becoming a hot issue for retail enterprise­s. However, compared with the ever-changing innovation practice,the relevant theoretica­l research lags behind. In particular ,there have been different views and conclusion­s on whether supply chain integratio­n can really improve the business performanc­e of retailer. In response to this phenomenon,based on the review of the existing research on the relationsh­ip between supply chain integratio­n and enterprise performanc­e,and based on the financial data of 57 domestic listed retailers under omni- channel transforma­tion from 2012 to 2019,the author makes an empirical study with Pearson correlatio­n analysis and multiple regression analysis. It is found that under the background of omni- channel retail,the impact of retail enterprise supply chain integratio­n on enterprise performanc­e is different from that on manufactur­ing supply chain integratio­n. The research shows that :the internal integratio­n of retailers has a positive correlatio­n with enterprise financial performanc­e and market performanc­e ;the overall customer integratio­n has a positive correlatio­n with enterprise financial performanc­e and market performanc­e ;the key customer integratio­n has a significan­t inverted "U" relationsh­ip with enterprise market performanc­e ,and has a negative correlatio­n with enterprise financial performanc­e;the integratio­n of key suppliers has a negative correlatio­n with enterprise market performanc­e and financial performanc­e. Based on these results,the author puts forward some specific suggestion­s:under the background of omni-channel retail transforma­tion,we should strengthen enterprise internal integratio­n,carry out customer integratio­n and supplier integratio­n within a larger threshold range,and avoid copying manufactur­ing supply chain integratio­n which pays attention to a few key suppliers and large customers. The author not only further tests the impact of retailing supply chain integratio­n on enterprise market performanc­e and financial performanc­e,but also makes a contributi­on to clarify its impact mechanism.
