The Impact of Supply Chain Integration on Enterprise Performance under the Background of Omni-channel Retailing

Abstract:Under the rapid development of“omni- channel retailing”,how to use new technology to improve enterprise performance through supply chain integration in the new environment is becoming a hot issue for retail enterprises. However, compared with the ever-changing innovation practice,the relevant theoretical research lags behind. In particular ,there have been different views and conclusions on whether supply chain integration can really improve the business performance of retailer. In response to this phenomenon,based on the review of the existing research on the relationship between supply chain integration and enterprise performance,and based on the financial data of 57 domestic listed retailers under omni- channel transformation from 2012 to 2019,the author makes an empirical study with Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. It is found that under the background of omni- channel retail,the impact of retail enterprise supply chain integration on enterprise performance is different from that on manufacturing supply chain integration. The research shows that :the internal integration of retailers has a positive correlation with enterprise financial performance and market performance ;the overall customer integration has a positive correlation with enterprise financial performance and market performance ;the key customer integration has a significant inverted "U" relationship with enterprise market performance ,and has a negative correlation with enterprise financial performance;the integration of key suppliers has a negative correlation with enterprise market performance and financial performance. Based on these results,the author puts forward some specific suggestions:under the background of omni-channel retail transformation,we should strengthen enterprise internal integration,carry out customer integration and supplier integration within a larger threshold range,and avoid copying manufacturing supply chain integration which pays attention to a few key suppliers and large customers. The author not only further tests the impact of retailing supply chain integration on enterprise market performance and financial performance,but also makes a contribution to clarify its impact mechanism.
