The Review of China's Logistics Industry Development in 2022 and the Outlook of 2023

Abstract：In 2022，under multiple pressures such as the impact of the epidemic，insufficient demand and rising costs，China's logistics industry continued to maintain a steady recovery momentum and achieve stable operation in general. This is mainly reflected in eight aspects：first，the total amount of social logistics，the total income of logistics industry and other major economic indicators has been growing steadily throughout the year；second，the logistics industry plays an important role in ensuring open and smooth logistics services；third，the concentration of market entities has steadily increased；fourth，supply chain innovation and application has entered a new stage；fifth，the construction of logistics network continues to advance；sixth， smart logistics shows new vitality；seventh，international logistics continues to open up new arenas；and eighth，corporate rescue policies have been intensively introduced. But at the same time，China's logistics industry also faces many difficulties such as the mismatch between supply and demand of logistics，the imbalance of supply structure，theinadequateutilizationofresources， the incoordination of policies and systems，and there is still a considerable gap between the Chinese modern logistics system with the matching of supply and demand，internal and external connectivity，safety and efficiency，smart and green，and the goal of a logistics power. In 2023，Chinese modern logistics system will not change its basic principles of integration ，innovation and highquality development；and there are also new opportunists and challenges in the future. In order to solidly promote the construction of the Chinese modern logistics system and support the development of Chinese modernization ，we should actively carry out research on and respond to the trends of demand scale expansion，supply structure adjustment，infrastructure efficiency improvement，supply chain upgrading，logistics digital transformation，international logistics complementation，rising logistics costs，green and low-carbon logistics operation，shortage of human resources and talent，and continuous optimization of the policy environment. Specifically，we should focus on six aspects of work：first，we should focus on strengthening high- quality supply and give priority to restoring and expanding consumption；second，we should focus on the integrated development of modern logistics and related industries，and deeply integrate modern logistics into the modern industrial system ；third，we should focus on improving the internal skills of enterprises and deepen the work of improving quality，increasing efficiency and reducing costs； fourth，we should focus on promoting infrastructure upgrading，connectivity and overall efficiency；fifth，we should focus on implementing innovation-driven，accelerating the transformation of kinetic energy，and creating new technologies，new models， and new ecosystems；sixth，we should focus on promoting a higher level of opening to the outside world and improving the resilience and security of the industrial chain supply chain.
