China Daily (Canada) - - NEWS CAPSULE -

Wanda Group, the Chinese property-to-entertainment conglomerate, signed a strategic partnership with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) to jointly build international hospitals, as part of the company’s deeper dive into the country’s burgeoning healthcare sector.

The hospitals, dubbed as Wanda UPMC International Hospital, will join forces of medical skills, management and services from UPMC, a medical group with more than 30 hospitals in the US.

Wanda, whose business covers a wide range of industries including real estate, sports and entertainment, revealed its ambition to enter the healthcare sector back in 2016. Its chairman Wang Jianlin also disclosed last year that the company will build a chain of hospitals in the future.(
