Univer­sity starts Silk Road Col­lege

Ren­min Univer­sity of China opened a new school named for the Silk Road on May 23 at its Suzhou cam­pus in Jiangsu prov­ince. The newly launched Silk Road Col­lege plans to en­roll 50 to 100 stu­dents from coun­tries and re­gions par­tic­i­pat­ing in the Belt and Road Ini­tia­tive in Septem­ber. It aims to cul­ti­vate high-end in­ter­na­tional pro­fes­sion­als and fu­ture lead­ers who are pas­sion­ate about Chi­nese cul­ture and have a deep un­der­stand­ing of the coun­try’s de­vel­op­ment path, mod­els and ex­pe­ri­ences. All stu­dents will be of­fered com­pre­hen­sive schol­ar­ships cov­er­ing full tu­ition, as well as sub­si­dies for liv­ing ex­penses and med­i­cal in­sur­ance, for the two-year mas­ter’s pro­gram.
