Tourism banned at Yel­low River’s source

Tourism has been banned in a pro­tected area at the source of the Yel­low River, China’s sec­ond-long­est river, the area’s man­age­ment com­mit­tee said on May 27. No tourism or ad­ven­ture ac­tiv­i­ties, by or­ga­ni­za­tions or in­di­vid­u­als, are al­lowed in the 19,100square-kilo­me­ter na­ture re­serve in Qing­hai prov­ince. An in­creas­ing num­ber of tourists have vis­ited the area in Madoi county, Golog Ti­betan au­tonomous pre­fec­ture, says Gan Xue­bin, deputy di­rec­tor of the re­serve’s man­age­ment com­mit­tee.
