3 cases of statis­tics vi­o­la­tion are iden­ti­fied

The Na­tional Bureau of Statis­tics has ex­posed three cases of vi­o­la­tion and fal­si­fi­ca­tion in count­ing fixed-as­set in­vest­ments, as part of ef­forts to en­sure data is au­then­tic and ac­cu­rate. In one case in­volv­ing fixed-as­set in­vest­ment data in Xianx­ian, He­bei prov­ince, 32 of the 33 sta­tis­ti­cal cat­e­gories were fab­ri­cated. Lo­cal statis­tics work­ers were said to have re­fused and hin­dered in­spec­tors sent by the cen­tral gov­ern­ment, ac­cord­ing to a source at the bureau. The NBS has handed the three cases to the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ments for fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
