The highest hotel in Beijing got guests high at a party on Friday night — not by plying them with intoxicants, but by hosting the event on the helipad, which sits on top of the 330-meter China World Tower in which the hotel is located.

The party marked the start an enticing array of activities to celebrate the sixth anniversary of China World Summit Wing, Beijing.

The Shangri-La hotel, which is the highest luxury hotel in the city, opened on Aug 30, 2010. The elegant and modern hotel features 278 rooms and suites, and aims to offer guests a comfortable and considerate experience.

The memorable experience atop the helipad on Friday offered guests breathtaking views of the Beijing sunset, followed by an exclusive Western set menu, crafted by the hotel’s talented culinary brigade.

Hakan Ozel, general man- ger of the hotel, said, “We would like to create an environment that our guests will not find anywhere else.”

Future pop-up dinners will focus on other cuisines with the creative use of seasonal ingredients. With the number of participants limited, places need to be booked, which can be easily done through the hotel’s WeChat account bjcwsw.

The hotel is also holding a lucky draw — “We are Six” on its WeChat account — as part of anniversary revelries. Guests who follow the hotel’s WeChat account and send a “happy birthday” greeting will be entered into the lucky draw. Winners will be picked randomly in multiples of six and will receive dining and spa vouchers as prizes.

The hotel’s award-winning restaurants and bars are naturally also joining in the celebrations with exclusive anniversary deals.

Follow the hotel’s WeChat account bjcwsw to get more information about its celebratory specials.
