As Dali, a popular tourist destination in Yunnan province, develops itself into an international tourism zone, Hilton Dali Resort & Spa is riding high on the city’s tourism promotion campaign to attract more guests.

The first five-star international hotel in the city, Hilton Dali provides a glimpse into local communities, said Jenni Hartatik, its general manager.

By offering considerate services, every staff member of the hotel gives their all to serve as goodwill ambassadors of the city, she said.

“I would like to emphasize the unique selling point here is the service, and then the product,” Hartatik said. “I enjoy giving service to everybody, no matter if they are guests or my team members.

“Service is part of my blood, and I believe small things can make the big things different.”

Hilton Dali opened at the end of 2015 and is located halfway up Cangshan Mountain, facing Erhai Lake. It is close to many scenic spots, including the Dali Ancient City. All the hotel’s 365 guestrooms have a private balcony to offer panoramic views, Hartatik said.

Upon their arrival at the hotel, guests will be treated with a rosemade pie, a local specialty, as a welcome gift at the front desk.

“Whenever they come, we would like them to feel the experience of the local culture and service, as well,” Hartatik said.

To present Dali culture better, the hotel’s designers have blended the Bai ethnic group’s architectural style into the building. The property features local characteristics in its interior decoration, such as huge Bai ethnic tie-dye paintings in the lobby and corridors, and exemplary Dali-style embroideries in each guestroom.

“Some guests don’t even want to go out. They can enjoy and relax

The Asian gene inherited by the group and our depth of knowledge of Chinese tourists offer them meaningful experiences away from home.” Service is part of my blood, and I believe small things can make the big things different.”

here the whole time,” she said.

Recreational facilities at the hotel include a 160-square-meter fitness center that is open around the clock, spa facilities that include a sauna, a 25-meter indoor swimming pool with a section designed for children, a Kids’ Club, mahjong rooms and a rooftop mini golf course.

Many parents will bring their children to the hotel for summer vacation, so the Hilton Dali will have a new promotion called Family Fun soon, Hartatik said.

“We will offer them discounts when they book a room and we will prepare standard welcome amenities for kids upon check-in,” she said.

“In summer, we will organize the Mini GM program, meaning we will teach children more about Hilton culture, and we would love kids to be the chef, journey ambassador or housekeeper, something new for them. At the end of their trip, we will give kids Mini GM certification as the ‘salary’.”

The Dali property is Hilton’s fourth in Yunnan province, after Hilton Yuxi Fuxian Lake, DoubleTree by Hilton Xishuangbanna and Hilton Garden Inn Lijiang.

Hilton Dali Resort & Spa is owned by Dali Shine Xiadu Real Estate and managed by Hilton Worldwide.
