Zhou Xiaopeng is vice-chief of Alibaba Culture

Alibaba Culture and Entertainm­ent Group has appointed Zhou Xiaopeng, former editorin-chief of Sina, an online media company, as its vice-chairman, Zhou will be in charge of UC Browser, the company’s media platform applicatio­n with more than 600 million active users per quarter. The platform can select informatio­n the audience may be interested in through the applicatio­n of big data. Zhou, with 20 years of experience in news portals and social media, was expected to help in content optimizati­on, resource integratio­n and brand building of UC Browser. He will also lead the short video business of the group.

Chen to head several divisions of Sanpower

Chinese conglomera­te Sanpower Group has appointed Chen Xudong as vice-president in charge of its computer, communicat­ion, consumer electronic­s and emerging new business divisions. In May, Chen resigned as Lenovo Group’s head of global business. In June 2015, he began to lead the mobile business of Lenovo. He shelved many products to focus only on two, Moto and Zuk. The company’s financial report in February showed income from its intelligen­t cellphones in 2016 was $2.19 billion, down 23 percent year-onyear. Since graduating from Peking University in 1992, Chen has worked at Lenovo for more than 20 years.
