Private investigator faces prosecution
A man in Zhaoqing has been prosecuted for violating the privacy and abusing the personal information of his father-in-law. The man’s mother-in-law suspected that her husband was having an affair and wanted a divorce. She asked the man to investigate. The man spent 80,000 yuan ($12,000) on gathering information and evidence online of the affair, which helped his mother-in-law get 1 million yuan and two apartments in the divorce settlement. The man is likely to face criminal charges.
