Low-speed maglev to debut in Guangdong
The first medium-low-speed maglev train in Guangdong province will start operation in 2019, authorities said. By the end of 2017, rail traffic was present in 34 cities in China, including subways, light rails or maglev trains, said Zhuang Shangbiao, an official with China Railway Society, at an industrial summit held in Qingyuan, Guangdong. Construction of the new Qingyuan maglev tour line began in December 2017. The main line stretches 8.1 km and it will link Chimelong Tourist Resort with Guangqing Industrial Park.
