Tourists tricked into ferry ‘tour’
City authorities are investigating reports that unlicensed tour guides tricked visitors into paying between 80 and 160 yuan ($11 and $23) for Huangpujiang river ferry tickets — which actually cost just 2 yuan — after describing the ferries as tour boats. The authorities have promised to improve management and supervision, and signs showing the ferry prices have been erected. Guides found violating laws and regulations will be punished, the Tourism Administration said.
