Airport opens in red tourism city
The Nanniwan Airport went into operation on Thursday in Yan’an, a tourist city in Shaanxi province. The first flight arrived at the airport about 8:30 am on Thursday. The old Ershilipu Airport is out of civil use. The new airport is located in the southwestern suburb, 13 km from the city center. It has seven gate positions and a 3,000meter runway. Yan’an, a famous revolutionary base that hosted the Communist Party of China headquarters from 1935 to 1948, is a hot tourist destination nowadays.
