16 suspects arrested, accused of fraud

Prosecutors on Sunday approved the arrests of 16 people, from Quanjian Nature Medicine Technology Development Co, a Tianjin-based health products company, involved in a pyramid scheme that used false advertising to cheat thousands of people out of their savings through health products. Chinese authorities launched a nationwide campaign to crack down on irregularities in the health products market after an investigation into the Quanjian case started in December. The campaign will last more than three months.
