The publishing of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China in Kyrgyzstan offers Chinese thought on governance and economic development to the country, officials said.

The book’s first volume, published in the Kyrgyz language and launched at the presidential palace on Saturday in Bishkek, was hailed by President Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

He said that Xi talked in this book about China’s rapid development, his thoughts on China’s future development path and China’s ideas and propositions on economic, security, ecological and environmental issues.

The book was made available in Kyrgyzstan five years ago, but in Russian. Jeenbekov said that now, Kyrgyz-speaking readers have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the unique book.

“Having received great interest in the world political arena, this work is perceived and evaluated by readers as a new vision for the new century. The book contains the author’s thoughts on the future of China, which emphasize the history of China’s rapid development at an unprecedented pace. I found in this book new ideas for the development of the world, brilliant thoughts about ways to improve the functioning of humanity,” Jeenbekov said.

Wang Xiaohui, executive deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said Xi Jinping: The Governance of China is an important book about China’s development path, development theory and domestic and foreign policies.

The book thoroughly clarifies that the comprehensive deepening of reform has provided a strong driving force for China’s sustainable development, that China’s strengthening its opening-up and reform has benefited the world while developing itself and that the leadership of the CPC provides a strong guarantee of China’s development, Wang said.

Roza Otunbayeva, former president of Kyrgyzstan, said the book is a bridge for the Kyrgyz people to know about modern China.

By reading the book, the world will understand that China’s development is an opportunity for the international community, rather than a threat, Otunbayeva said.

The first volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China contains 79 speeches, talks, interviews, notes and letters written by the Chinese leader, dating from November 2012 to June 2014.

It has sold 6.42 million copies in over 21 languages in more than 160 countries and regions.
