Epson promotes sustainable philosophy in valuable China market
Dedicated to contributing to a sustainable society, Japanese electronics maker Seiko Epson Corp, commonly known as Epson, has pledged to of fer more innovation and eco friendly products in the China market.
“In Epson’ s management philosophy, we talked about our commitment to sustainability, and it has been apart of our company right from the very start ,” said Ya sun ori Ogawa, president of Seiko Epson Corp.
Over the past decades, Epson is committed to carrying out its business strategy of contributing toe co friendly development via technology and product innovation.
“We’d like to work with Chinese partners via Epson’s technology to make some great products and contribute to Chinese society and benefit Chinese people ,” Og aw a said.
Attending the third China International Import Expo for the first time, Epson is not only demonstrating its contribution to ecofriendly development over the persistent decades, but is also showcasing its unremitting efforts to improve eco friendly products and innovations in the inkjet, visual, robotics and wearable innovation area.
During the fair, the company will debut its major products including the PaperLab in office dry papermaking system.
According to the company, PaperLab employs Epson ’s dr y fiber technology to produce new paper from used without water (a small amount water is needed to keep the system moist), helping to realize the paper recycling cycle and maintain information security by dissolving paper into fibers.
“The CIIE is a really great opportunity to tell Chinese customers about our environmental products,” Ogawa said.

In early 2008, Epson announced its Environmental Vision 2050. The company is commit ted to using efficient, compact and precision technologies to achieve sustain ability in a circular economy.
“We use these technologies in all our products, and we make efforts to develop new generation products that are more efficient, compact and have more precision ,” Ogawa said.
As a leading manufacturer in printing, Epson focuses on technological innovation and has launched Heat Free Technology concept based on its piezo inkjet technology, making the printing process with higher productivity and less environmental impact with no need of heating and less processing.
Till now, Heat Free Technology has been used in Epson printing businesses ranging from office and home inkjet printers, commercial and industrial inkjet printers, showing its advantage over Thermal Inkjet Printer Technology and Laser printer.
Besides the I nkjet innovation area, Epson is bringing its robotic technology experience to the China Market, utilizing automatic applications in the manufacturing of electronics products to help improve the efficiency and accuracy of assembly lines in factories.
According to the company’s fiscal year report, from April 1,2019 to March31, Epson achieved a revenue of 1.04 trillion yen ($10.05 billion ), with 75 percent of that generated by its overseas businesses.
Presiding as the new president of Epson from this year , Oga wa shared his business philosophy.
“When I think about what a company is there are two aspects, one is what is the company contributing to society, and the second is the employees’ happiness, their satisfaction.
“We respect all employees and market differentiation in the world, so we use multiple local business strategies in dif ferent markets.”
To date, the company has 85 branches, offices and production sites in countries and regions including China, Singapore, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Its overseas employees account for more than 80 percent of the company’s total workforce.
In China, Epson has expanded its footprint by establishing of fices and manufacturing subsidiaries in more than nine cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Nanjing.
“We want Epson ’ s ecofriendly technology to make customers happy and achieve a sustainable society.
“And we will keep growing our business in China, trying to become an indispensable company to Chinese customers and society ,” Ogawa said.
