Xi met with the children when he visited JPC’s permanent activity center and integrated youth training camp on June 30, 2017.

Xi responds to a letter written by 24 HKSAR-based academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in June 2017. He ordered that timely action be taken to enhance cooperation in science and technology between the HKSAR and the Chinese mainland, support Hong Kong in becoming an international center of innovative technology, and back HKSAR scientists in contributing to the nation’s development.

At a meeting with a delegation of officials from the two special administrative regions, Xi calls on Hong Kong and Macao to embrace the nation’s reform and opening-up for greater development. The delegation was in Beijing for celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the nation’s reform and opening-up.

Xi said he supports and trusts the HKSAR government’s work after hearing Lam’s report on Hong Kong’s turbulent situation.
The Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the State Council unveil the Outline Development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aiming to turn the region into “a role model of highquality development”. Promoting the Greater Bay Area’s development was a major decision made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi at the core.
