Country strikes Kurdish groups in Iraq, Syria

-

Turkiye conducted an air operation early on Sunday against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units in northern Syria and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party in northern Iraq, the Turkish defense ministry said. The “Claw-Sword” air operation was carried out in regions used as bases to attack Turkiye and in self-defense in line with the 51st article of the United Nations Charter, the ministry said in a written statement. The operation came after a deadly attack in Istanbul on Nov 13 that killed at least six.
