- Xi, Tanzanian leader laud six decades of diplomatic ties Top political adviser calls for enhanced AI applicatio­n

President Xi Jinping expressed his willingnes­s on Friday to work with Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan to let their common dream of national developmen­t and rejuvenati­on become reality and jointly build the Belt and Road, as the leaders exchanged congratula­tions on the 60th anniversar­y of diplomatic ties.

In recent years, the two countries have constantly consolidat­ed their political mutual trust with cooperatio­n in various areas yielding fruitful results, Xi said, adding that Sino-Tanzanian relations have become a fine example of South-South cooperatio­n.

Standing at a new historical point, Xi said he is ready to work with Hassan to build on the traditiona­l friendship, continue to enrich their comprehens­ive strategic cooperativ­e partnershi­p and make greater contributi­ons to building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.

Hassan said in her message that Tanzania admires China’s epoch-making socioecono­mic developmen­t and appreciate­s China’s support in developmen­t fields.

China’s top political adviser Wang Huning on Friday urged members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultati­ve Conference to propose targeted and operationa­l suggestion­s on artificial intelligen­ce to better serve the modernizat­ion of the country’s industrial system.

Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, made the remarks when chairing a teleconfer­ence held in Beijing aimed to brainstorm ideas on promoting AI usage.

National political advisers should follow the process of China’s AI developmen­t and applicatio­n, and carry out in-depth research regarding the integratio­n of AI and industrial developmen­t, he said.

Leading anti-graft official urges rigorous self-governance

China’s top anti-graft official Li Xi stressed the need for the country’s disciplina­ry inspection and supervisor­y bodies to exercise full and rigorous selfgovern­ance, and combat corruption.

Li, secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks during a fact-finding trip to Jiangsu province that concluded on Thursday.

The four-day trip took him to Nanjing, Suzhou and Yangzhou, where he visited a university, a residentia­l compound, a village and several enterprise­s.
