Ar­riv­ing and leav­ing the NECC

Pas­sen­gers ar­riv­ing at Shang­hai’s two air­ports — Hongqiao and Pudong, can find a ser­vice cen­ter af­ter clear­ing cus­toms within 500 me­ters in any di­rec­tion to an­swer en­quiries.

• By car

The expo venue has space to park more than 4,000 ve­hi­cles, ac­cord­ing to Fu Haicong, chief ar­chi­tect of the East China Ar­chi­tec­tural De­sign & Re­search In­sti­tute re­spon­si­ble for the de­sign of the expo venue. But to en­sure ef­fi­ciency, only cars with spe­cial per­mit is­sued by the or­ga­niz­ers are al­lowed to en­ter the venue and sur­round­ing ar­eas dur­ing the expo.

• By pub­lic trans­porta­tion

Two 8-meter-high el­e­vated pedes­trian walk­ways in the west and east con­nect the build­ing with nearby pub­lic park­ing, buses, tax­ies and metro lines, which means peo­ple can eas­ily travel from and to down­town Shang­hai or even nearby Yangtze River Delta re­gion cities.

• By metro

Vis­i­tors can take the metro to reach the NECC by get­ting off at the East Xu­jing Sta­tion on Line 2 lo­cated in the cen­ter of the NECC or Zhuguang Road Sta­tion on Line 17.

• By taxi

There are three taxi pick-up/dropoff points near the NECC; the P1 park­ing lot (taxi west drop-off point), Shenwu Road (taxi east drop-off point and ride-hail­ing drop-off point) and P5 park­ing lot (taxi pickup point).

Ser­vice for pickup point is from 3 pm to 8 pm.

• By bus

Vis­i­tors trav­el­ing from and to Shang­hai’s down­town can choose Bus Line 71, an ex­press bus line that runs be­tween North Huangpi Road (near Shang­hai’s down­town cen­ter, the Peo­ple’s Square) and Shenkun Road ter­mi­nal. Shut­tle bus runs be­tween the Shenkun Road ter­mi­nal and the NECC’s P6 park­ing lot from 8 am to 8 pm. Bus Line 71 also op­er­ates an ex­tended ser­vice to the NECC’s P1 park­ing lot from 3 pm to 7 pm, but at a lower fre­quency.

Take an over­pass con­nect­ing the rail­way sta­tion with the expo venue and it takes around 24 min­utes by foot.

Take Metro Line 2, get off at East Xu­jing Sta­tion and get out of the sta­tion from exit 9.

Taxi: Queu­ing time is about 3 min­utes to get into a taxi dur­ing off-peak hours; queu­ing time is about 20 min­utes to get into a taxi dur­ing peak hours.

Time: 65 min­utes (off-peak) 95 min­utes (peak)

Fare: Ap­prox­i­mately 215 yuan ($ 31) (day), 277 yuan (night)

Me­glev + Metro Line 2: Take the me­glev from Pudong In­ter­na­tional Air­port to Longyang Road, trans­fer Metro Line 2 to East Xu­jing Sta­tion, and take exit 9 to reach the NECC. Time: 90 min­utes

Fare: 50 yuan (me­glev) + 6 yuan (metro) = 56 yuan

Metro Line 2: Take the east ex­ten­sion line of Metro Line 2 from Pudong In­ter­na­tional Air­port to Guanglan Road, trans­fer Metro Line 2 to East Xu­jing Sta­tion, and take exit 5 to reach the NECC.

Time: 105 min­utes

Fare: 9 yuan Bus:

Air­port Line 1: This line brings pas­sen­gers di­rectly to Hongqiao Air­port, and the NECC is about 2.4 kilo­me­ters by walk.

Time: 100 min­utes

Fare: 30 yuan

Air­port Line 2: This line brings pas­sen­gers to down­town Jing’an Tem­ple, then pas­sen­gers can trans­fer to Metro Line 2 to East Xu­jing Sta­tion and reach the NECC from exit 5. Time: 95 min­utes

Fare: 22 yuan (bus) + 5 yuan (metro) =27 yuan

CIIE Line: There is also tai­lored bus route to take pas­sen­gers from Pudong In­ter­na­tional Air­port to the NECC for free.

Time: 60 min­utes (off-peak); 95 min­utes (peak)

Fare: free


A ser­vice cen­ter for the China In­ter­na­tional Im­port Expo at Hongqiao In­ter­na­tional Air­port does brisk busi­ness.
